This Project started as a result of seeing single parents struggling to provide for the basics like food, clothing, and schooling. Many of the houses are poorly built resulting in already struggling parents not being able to repair the housing, resulting in leaking roofs and general deterioration of the home.

We work with a local contractor to inspect the house, establish the damage that needs to be repaired and work on a solution. We further do some fundraising for these families to fix the house and give them a safe house with dignity.

Rainwater harvesting is a technique of collection and storage of rainwater into natural reservoirs or tanks. One method of rainwater harvesting is rooftop harvesting. With rooftop harvesting, almost any surface — tiles, metal sheets, plastics — can be used to intercept the flow of rainwater and provide a household with water, conveniently accessible and available year-round. Access to water, gives sustainability to food gardens, and improving lives through food availability.
